Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in the city of Havana, Cuba. The family moved to Miami at two years old. Ana was was raised in Cuba's Havana. Her move to Miami with her family around the age of 2 following her move from Havana. Born in Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo hosts of renowned Telemundo program "Caso Cerrado", the first Spanish programming to be nominated for a Daytime Entertainment Emmy(r) Award. It was also in 2015 ranked as the most popular Spanish-language programming at 4pm across the key demos. Polo was born in Havana in 1959. Following her graduation the Florida International University's Political sciences program, she made the move to Havana where she stayed for 20 years. After that, she received the PhD in law at the University of Miami and practiced law for over 20 years within the City of Miami. Following her PhD at the University of Miami she practiced law in Miami for over 20 years. Polo made her first appearance on the screen in 2001 when she was part of Telemundo's Sala de Parejas. Her legal expertise was also employed for other court-related programs. Literature and Awards In 1958, she published Los Hijos Muertos. This novel won her the Critic's Prize and the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute arrived in the United States of America from Spain, 1960. Polo who is a breast cancer patient and cancer survivor, speaks often about her cause. She has been a tireless activist for LGBT rights her entire career. She is a lawyer of The University of Miami School of Law in Florida, and is also a Florida Bar Member.
